Ardent sightseers will love the abundance of attractions, often in the midst of the beauties of nature. You can go for an adventurous trip by a narrow gauge railway into the heart of Czech Canada, take a hiking trip on plank roads in Červená Blata (Red Marshes), take a canoeing trip along the Lužnice and Nežárka rivers, discover the hidden beauty of Tereza’s Valley by Nové Hrady, follow the oldest railway on the European continent from České Budějovice to Linz in Austria or try for yourself what it feels like to walk around the entire world here in the region of Třeboň ponds.

• Bušek’s Iron Mill – a functional technical monument, a restored 18th century water-driven iron mill. The mill includes a display of its technical and lodging premises, period technical equipment, folk furniture and ceramics.
• Chateau Červená Lhota – a Renaissance chateau standing on a rock in the middle of a lake, a popular setting for numerous movie fairy tales. Renaissance and Rococo interiors with precious furnishings, an English park with a chapel, a hiking route around the lake.
• Czech Canada – an area situated south-east of Jindřichův Hradec at the historical border of Bohemia and Moravia. An impressive forested landscape with ponds, rivers and quaint rock formations (rock basins and rocking stones). The perfect way to visit this area is by a narrow-gauge railway from Jindřichův Hradec to Nová Bystřice.
• Helfenburk Castle – massive ruins of the Rosenberg Gothic fortress with bulwarks, moats and large fortifications with cannon bastions. Preserved entrance gates, remains of the three-storey palace, the watchtower offers an impressive view of Šumava.
• Chateua Hluboká – a charming Windsor-style pseudo-Gothic chateau with luxurious interiors, unique woodcuts and precious collections. An armory, a riding school gallery with a display of paintings by Mikuláš Aleš, and other regular exhibitions.
• Zoo and Ohrada hunting chateau – a Baroque hunting chateau with an exhibition of forestry, hunting, fishing and pond building. A zoological garden featuring mostly Central European animal species.
• Holašovice – an exceptionally complete and uniquely preserved South Bohemian village in vernacular style known as “Folk Baroque” registered in the UNESCO World Heritage List. A village square with a pond, a blacksmith forge, farms.
• Chýnov Cave – the first cave opened to and frequented by the general public in the Czech Republic (1868) with original stone stairs set in the layers of marble and amphibolite. National nature monument.
• Jindřichův Hradec – large Gothic and Renaissance chateau complex with three courtyards, which are said to be haunted by the White Lady. Period wall paintings, a charming garden roundabout with a concert hall, a remarkable smoke kitchen on the ground floor of the Red Tower.
• Landštejn Castle – a massive stronghold which used to guard the restless borders between Bohemia and Austria. Collections of medieval weaponry, large courtyards, remains of castle palaces, an observation tower.
• Chateau Orlík and Zvíkov Castle – aristocratic residences situated on the cliffs above the Orlík Dam. Before the construction of the artificial lake, both stood 60 meters above the surface of the Vltava River. A popular resort, water sports, sightseeing cruises; the observation tower in Zvíkov provides visitors with a magnificent view of the confluence of the Vltava and Otava rivers.
• Písek – the oldest Gothic stone bridge in Bohemia, dating back to the 13th century, decorated with Baroque sculptures. Prácheň Museum of gold mining in Pootaví.
• Slavonice – a historic town with numerous burgher houses with richly decorated Renaissance facades, and entrance halls (mashauses) with decorated cellar vaults. Underground cellars and passages are all open to the public.
• Tábor – an urban reservation with many historic sites and monuments, the home of the Hussite Museum with interesting exhibitions and guided tours to underground corridors and tunnels. Near Tábor there lies the Baroque pilgrimage destination of Klokoty, connected to the town with a linden alley with Stations of the Cross.
• Třeboň – a spa town with a Renaissance chateau. Historic interiors, chateau stables with an exhibition on horse breeding and training, in the dungeons the visitors can see the exhibition the Ghosts and Spooks of the Crown Lands of Bohemia.
• Třeboň Region – UNESCO biosphere reservation and a protected landscape area. The adaptations of the original marshes transformed the landscape into a sophisticated network of artificial streams and lakes. Varied wetland and water plant species, preserved meandering rivers.
• Chain bridge over Lužnice – the last existing imperial chain bridge in Europe; originally spanned the Vltava River in Podolsko, it was dismantled, transported and built in Stádlec (1975). The suspension chains of the 90-meter-long and 8-meter-wide bridge are suspended through 7-meter-high stone portals.
