The romantic Hotel Mlýn is located on the bank of the River Beroun below Karlštejn Castle. Only 25 km from Prague, it is set in the beautiful environment of the Český kras (Bohemian Karst) Protected Landscape Area.
In a newly created relaxation centre directly in the hotel, hotel guests have available a sauna, whirlpool and a small fitness centre. Not far from the hotel is an 18-hole golf course with a view of Karlštejn Castle. A nearby sports ground offers tennis courts, a football pitch and a volleyball court. The location offers excellent conditions for hiking, cycling, horse riding, water sports and fishing.
The hotel manages 21 stylishly equipped rooms. The restaurant, along with its bar and summer terrace, offers pleasant gatherings overlooking the River Beroun. The Hotel Mlýn conference room is suitable not only for seminars and training courses but also for various social events, including weddings.
From the history of the hotel
The first historical accounts of the courtyard with a mill on the left bank of the River Beroun originate from 1263. From the 14th century, this courtyard belonged to the Karlštejn estate. Part of the mill grounds included a blacksmith’s shop, and in the middle of the yard was a pigeon coop, which has been preserved up to the present day. The last miller was at the mill until 1949. In 2002, the structure of the hotel was completely rebuilt and the rooms reconstructed. In August of the same year, the hotel was hit by flooding (a 500-year flood), and the hotel was reopened in May 2003.
