Valentine’s Day: romantic and original

If you really want to charm your sweetheart on Valentine’s Day, set off to the Czech Republic to celebrate this red-letter day. Here, all your dreams will come true.

A night inside a lookout tower

If you want to experience something truly original, head for the Czech mountains during this lovers’ holiday and take a room in the Ještěd or Praděd lookout tower. Hotels operate inside both towers, so you will enjoy a stay with a magnificent view of the mountains. The Ještěd lookout tower (www.jested.cz) is located in the Jizera Mountains, about an hour from Prague, while Praděd (www.hotelpraded.cz) is in the north of Moravia in the Jeseníky Mountains. At both places, you can spend the day skiing after enjoying a romantic night.

Prague for lovers

Prague is beautiful, Prague is romantic. It is without a doubt the perfect place to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Explore all the quiet corners of this ancient metropolis together, stop in at some of the cafés or restaurants, treat yourselves to a horse-carriage ride… You can also book a full romance package at one of the many Prague hotels, where you will receive fantastic treatment (e.g. www.hoteladria.cz, www.uzlatestudny.cz, www.hotelpresident.cz).

An evening boat cruise on the Vltava with live music will impress your sweetheart for sure (www.evd.cz).

Romance at a water park

At Aquapalace Praha, a varied programme is prepared for Valentine’s Day. It includes, for instance, contests for couples (ride on an inflatable killer whale, water fights, and partner rescue) and a romantic swim by candlelight. Aquapalace Praha is the largest water park in Central Europe. It is located just outside the city. (www.aquapalace.cz)

Spas for two

Endless peace and pampering. These words describe in short the stay you as a couple will enjoy in Czech spas. Many spas offer packages designed for couples (and not only for Valentine’s Day). In Mariánské Lázně, the Romantic Package (2 nights, www.marienbad.cz/) is offered for couples, while Spa Aurora in Třeboň offers the Romance stay (6 nights, www.aurora.cz). You will also find a package designed just for couples at Spa Poděbrady (2 nights, www.lazne-podebrady.cz), not far from Prague. The options do not end there. As in a fairy tale

The Czech Republic is able to boast of a great number of castles and chateaus scattered throughout its territory. In some of these, people are able to take lodgings and thus spend unforgettable moments in a fairy-tale-like setting. Here are some examples: the Hotel Chateau Kotěra (www.hotelkotera.cz) is located approximately 10 km from Kutná Hora, a UNESCO-listed town which also seems as if it were created for strolling by couples in love.
