Svatý Jan pod Skalou

Svatý Jan pod Skalou is a popular destination for tourists from Prague and nearby Beroun. The biggest attraction is the pilgrim church of the Birth of St. John the Baptist. The Baroque temple was designed in the 17th century by architect Carlo Lurago and in the church there is the grave of the Croatian hermit Ivan, to whom St. John the Baptist appeared at this place. The church itself is connected with the hermit’s cave where there is a well with healing water.
