Solvay´s Quarry Outdoor Museum near Svatý Jan pod Skalou

You can find out how a former limestone quarry Paraple (Parasol) operated if you walk along nature trails at any time of year. However, if you are interested in extracting, transport and processing of limestone, visit this place in high season. You will be able to visit the museum and underground tunnel and ride in a small train on the unique quarry railway.

Solvay's Quarry open-air museum

The most interesting sight is the 600 mm gauge field railway that represents a graphic illustration of the transport of raw materials in side-tipper carriages pulled by a diesel locomotive.
